Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and classroom-related instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation in two to five years. There are hundreds of apprenticeship programs available in construction, service, and industrial occupations. Registered apprentices are paid an hourly wage to attend their trade-specific schooling, which is sponsored by joint employer and labor groups, individual employers and/or associations.
