Area Higher Education Opportunities

There are six institutions of higher education headquartered in southwestern Wisconsin including two technical colleges, a public 4-year university, a private 4-year college and two 2-year UW campuses. These higher educational institutions provide a wide variety of educational opportunities. Look at the educational offerings and student support services available at these local organizations.

Blackhawk Technical College
  BTC offers approximately 50 programs leading toward an associate degree, technical diploma, certificate or apprenticeship in areas such as industrial and agricultural occupations, service occupations, business, marketing and continuing education. A majority of BTC courses are offered at the Central Campus located midway between the cities of Beloit and Janesville on over 80 acres of partially wooded rolling prairie. Classes are also offered at the Aviation Center at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport, the Center For Transportation Studies located north of Janesville, and at the Monroe Campus. Southwest Wisconsin Technical College
  SWTC provides lifelong learning opportunities with an individualized focus for students and communities. Southwest Tech is a comprehensive technical school of higher learning that offers excellent educational opportunities, a broad array of support services, and a student-friendly atmosphere. There are 39 active programs operating in the areas of Agriculture and Community Development, Business and General Studies, Health and Service Occupations, Industrial Occupations, and Basic Skills leading to associate degrees, technical diplomas, and certificates. UW-Platteville
  One of 13 publicly supported comprehensive universities in the University of Wisconsin System, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (UWP) is the oldest public institution in the State of Wisconsin having been founded in 1866. It is also one of the safest campuses in the nation. UWP provides programs through the Colleges of Business, Industry, Life Science, and Agriculture; Engineering, Mathematics, and Science; and Liberal Arts and Education help students build on the foundation of strong values, commitment to excellence, leadership for a stronger world and a knowledge of technology which prepares them for life in the 21st century. UW-Richland
  A two year freshman - sophomore campus located in the beautiful hill country of southwestern Wisconsin, UW-Richland provides students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts & Sciences degree, which will transfer to any UW campus. UW-Rock County
  Start your college career at UW-Rock County to get the best start for the life you want. At U-Rock you can earn an Associate of Arts and Science degree – a liberal arts degree that is the foundation for many majors and for acquiring a bachelor’s degree. Students have the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree through collaborative programs offered by UW-Milwaukee, UW-Platteville and UW-Whitewater.

Beloit College
  Founded in 1846, Beloit is recognized for its longstanding commitment to curricular innovation. Beloit offers more than fifty majors, more than thirty minors, and a number of dual-degree and pre-professional programs. A flexible curriculum, grounded in rigorous study encourages independent research, fieldwork, and collaboration with peers and professors.
